The Bavarian based carmaker BMW is on a full swing with its newest prototypes being tested out on different parts of Europe; following recent tests of the new 2019 Z4 M40i at Autodrome de Miramas in the South of France, the future BMW X3 M has been put to work at the famous Nurburgring track, in Germany.

Judging by the evidently stripped-off camouflage, these are perhaps the prototype`s final tests before a final debut, presuming at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, this September. To see the SUV`s stage of development, you can also access the spy video below.

From a visual standpoint, the hardcore model from the X3 series presents itself with an extremely aggressive body style, highlighted by a number of impressive M goodies. We are dealing here with updated front and rear bumpers, along with new side skirts and roof-mounted spoiler. The whole look is complemented with the now much larger alloy wheels.

Mechanically, the new 2019 X3 M features new braking system, sports suspension, along with the carmaker`s updated launch control and retuned electronics, all increasing its driving and handling capabilities.

From previous posts, we also know that the interior of the 2019 BMW X3 M is going to come with a lot of new improvements compared to the previous model. We are expecting more M goodies, better high-end materials and the company`s latest high-tech gadgetries, also underpinning other new models from BMW.

As for powertrains under the hood, word has it that the new X3 M will be equipped with a 3.0-liter turbo-charged inline six-cylinder engine, also known as the S58 pot, the same that is put on the 40i models. In the X3 M, the engine could come up with around 454 horsepower. This means that it would be around 99 horsepower more powerful than the M40i, with a sprint from standstill to 100 km/h done in 4.0 seconds. Without the M Driver`s Package, the top speed will stop at 250 km/h, or 280 km/h with the system installed.

You can find more details about the future 2018 BMW X3 M in the spy video below! Stay tuned and don’t forget to share your opinions with us!

After the arrival of the bigger and much more stylish X4 M40d sibling, the German based carmaker has also announced the introduction of the same variant from the X3, with sales to commence this July. Prices haven’t been yet released but we expect fresh news in the upcoming period.

Compared to last year`s model, the new 2019 BMW X3 M40d is much bigger, wider and enhanced with even more technological gizmos inside the cabin. However, the big news is that this year`s model is enhanced with more power.

Dealing with the G01 BMW X3 M40d, the gorgeous model comes with a B57 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine, developing a good 326 horsepower and impressive 680 Nm of torque, available at as low as 1,750 rpm. On the other hand, its brother in arms the X3 M40i comes with 370 horsepower and only 500 Nm of torque, the latter one being tenth second faster.

This means that the 2019 BMW X3 M40d performs a sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, at a top speed which is electronically-limited to 250 km/h, just like most of the carmaker`s new model lineup. The power is sent to all four corners via an eight-speed automatic transmission, the same which gears up its M40i sibling, too.

Even if it packs a 3.0-liter displacement with such important performance figures, power and torque, the new X4 M40d seems to be highly-efficient in terms of fuel consumption. It thus manages a combined consumption of just 6.5L/100 km, while the CO2 emissions combined don’t exceed 169 g/km.

As for exterior visuals, the new BMW X4 M40d is easily standing out from the crowd with the M Sport package, which enhances its aggressive looks. The most important highlights are the Cerium Gray exterior accents, as well as the 20-inch alloy wheels now coming with M Sport brakes. The model is standardly equipped as well with M Sport suspension system and variable sports steering system.

There has been quite a lot of talk about BMW’s future development of vehicles. The fact that it embraces the idea of complete electrification of the automotive industry is definitely something that has attracted everybody’s attention. How will future BMW vehicles look? How will they function? How will BMW adapt its policies in order to comply with its new vision? All these things might get a couple of answers as BMW might show the iX3 Concept in Beijing. This might be the moment all BMW fans have been waiting for. BMW might show us a glimpse of the future.

This is not the only piece of news that might make BMW fans smile. BMW has announced that it plans to show a lot more electric concepts this year. The auto show in Beijing will probably be the first in a series of glimpses BMW will offer us into its future. While we are still far away from what BMW wants to show us, the idea is for people to get used to the ideas that the Bavarian automaker will slowly push into our society. This is a moment in the development of automotive industry worth being part of.

BMW iX3 Concept

The big question regarding BMW’s future is if its new adopted policy will succeed in the end. While speculations are pointing in one direction or the other, the truth is we will have to wait and see. The wait will be long. We will know if BMW’s electrification policy will be good after it reaches or fails its primary targets. While electrification seems like the best idea to implement for the future of the automotive industry, there are quite a number of unanswered issues with this technology. Let us hope that all potential issues that may appear on the way to development will be fixed by interested automakers such as BMW.

BMW iX3 Concept

Without a doubt, BMW has caught the attention of all those interested in the future of the automotive industry. We will soon see how BMW will attempt to implement its electrification plans for the future development of vehicles. Whether or not the applied policy will be successful, just the fact that the Bavarian automaker risked so much is something to cheer for. Inevitably, we will find out if BMW was right in selecting this particular future development path. Time will demonstrate it in the end.

If you live in the United States and love the all-new 2018 X2 and X3 from BMW, and yet don’t have enough money to buy the top notch variants, than you should take into account the cheaper variants the carmaker is throwing on the market.

The 2018 BMW X2 can be had in the cheaper variant, the sDrive28i, available from $36,400, as well as the sDrive30i from the new X3, costing no more than $41,000. Prices don’t include the $995 destination and handling fee.

If you opt for the 2018 BMW X2 sDrive28i, then you should know that the model is already available in pre-orders, while the X3 sDrive30i will arrive in a couple of months. So you still have time to put some money away for the latter model.

With $2,000 less than the top of the line X2 xDrive28i, the entry-level sDrive28i also comes with some important characteristics.

Visually, the 2018 BMW X2 xDrive28i features LED lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels or power tailgate. Inside, the model gets the same plethora of high-tech gadgetries and standard equipment – 10-way power front sport seats with SensaTec upholstery, automatic climate control system, or seven-speaker audio system. The cabin is also tweaked with high-gloss black trim with pearl gloss chrome accents, while the steering wheel is wrapped in high-end leather.

In the engine department, the model is equipped with a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo flat-four engine with 228 horsepower and 349 Nm of torque, sent to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. This means an acceleration from standstill to 100 km/h in a good 6.6 seconds, at a top speed of 231 km/h.

Being the older sibling, it means that the X3 sDrive30i will get the same visual treatment and the same equipment inside the cabin. The only difference is the engine configuration. In this case, the 2.0-liter flat-four cylinder outputs 248 horsepower and 349 Nm of torque. The acceleration is 0.1 second better than the X2 sDrive28i.

For more details about the 2018 BMW X2 sDrive28i you can also check out the online configurator found on the carmaker`s official website. The X3`s official details will be posted in a couple of months.

We already knew BMW had plans regarding its access to the electric vehicle market. The release of BMW models such as the i3 and i8 is proof of this, however, turning already released vehicle models, such as the BMW X3, into fully electric cars, shows that the Bavarian automaker really means business when it comes to becoming more environmentally friendly.

While at first glance the BMW X3 looks like a normal version of the very popular SUV, the absence of an exhaust system and the presence of a charge port near the left, front wheel arch remind us that this is indeed a special variant of the BMW X3 model. The interesting fact about this particular version is that no compromise has been made in order for it to be transformed into an electric vehicle. Apart from the fuelling system being radically different, the electric BMW X3 will be fitted with the same equipment we see on the regular BMW X3s out there.

Electric BMW X3 Prototype

The electric BMW X3 is without a doubt a car that most BMW fans look forward to. The vehicle itself combines the best of both worlds. On one hand it is as luxurious as we’ve come to expect from the Bavarian automaker, while on the other, it is more environmentally friendly. Owning an electric vehicle also means saving money on account of electricity being cheaper than fuel. Another important advantage is the reduction of noise. It will be interesting to see how many people will decide to buy the electric BMW X3. The future looks promising for this particular model.

Electric BMW X3 Prototype

BMW has already planned to release a hybrid version of the same BMW X3 before it releases the fully electric one. Even if BMW is serious about concentrating on the electric vehicle market, it seems that the Bavarian automaker has planned a smooth and slow transition from the classic fuel vehicles to the modern electric ones. Having a solid strategy, BMW will definitely evolve and reach a new level of development.

Electric BMW X3 Prototype

The electric BMW X3 will definitely prove a successful concept. It will be interesting to see which BMW models will become electric next. Regardless, the presence of the BMW X3 electric prototype is a reminder that the electric upgrade plan has already begun. This shows that the Bavarian automaker is serious about concentrating on the electric market. This means BMW is about to offer serious competition to the other manufacturers of electric vehicles.

Just as promised a couple of months back, BMW has officially unveiled the all-new 2018 X3, just ahead the 2017 Paris Motor Show, this autumn. The long-expected M40i Performance is also standing close to it, with plenty of new goodies and impressive power under the hood.

Just like in the previews, the new X3 brings fresh a new design, plenty of gizmos inside, the latest safety packs and an array of powerful engines under the hood.

From a visual standpoint, the 2018 BMW X3 stays faithful to the company`s new design language, with the “three-dimensional” kidney grille, fog lights with hexagonal design, while the rear end is highlighted by the twin exhaust pipes and downward-sloping roof spoiler, thus creating a more aggressive look.

As expected, the model is also wider, coming with a larger wheelbase and a 50:50 weight distribution between the axles.

However, the exterior design lines vary from one variant to another. In the xLine disguise for instance, the version can be had in the Satin aluminum or Silver matte, adding as well 18-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels, while the interior welcomes you with Anthracite headliner, standard Sport Seats with power adjustable side bolsters and so on.

There is also the Luxury Package as optional, with new chrome kidney grill bars and SensaTec dashboard, shortly followed by the M Sport Package, which adds plenty on new elements at the exterior and inside. We can also mentio here the M Aerodynamics kit with the massive 19-inch M double-spoke alloys and so on.

Technology wise, the all-new 2018 BMW X3 comes with plenty of gadgetries, such as the massive 10.25-inch touchscreen display, adding gesture control, Intelligent Voice Control, or BMW Connected app with digital connectivity. As for the safety systems, we should mention the most important ones – Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Active Blind Spot Protection, Lane Departure Warning, Daytime Pedestrian Protection, Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation, Cross Traffic Alert rear, and Speed Limit Info (Navigation system required). You can also get the optional Driving Assistant Plus package, now available with the Active Lane Keeping Assistant with Side Collision Avoidance, Traffic Jam Assistant, Evasion Aid and Cross Traffic Alert front and rear.

In the engine department, the 2018 MW X3 is represented by the xDrive30d and xDrive30d, with power ranging between 190 HP and 400 Nm of torque – 265 HP and 620 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the xDrive30i petrol burner is now coming with 248 horsepower, with a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h done in a good 6.0 seconds.

Finally, the freshly-introduced 2018 X3 M40i is way more powerful than the rest of the lineup. We are looking here at a 3.0-liter M Performance TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine, with 360 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, allowing an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds.

Visually, the new X3 M40i is equipped with plenty of M goodies, such as M Sport exhaust system with Black Chrome tailpipes, ”M40i” logos on the front door sills and so on.
