If you live in the United States and love the all-new 2018 X2 and X3 from BMW, and yet don’t have enough money to buy the top notch variants, than you should take into account the cheaper variants the carmaker is throwing on the market.

The 2018 BMW X2 can be had in the cheaper variant, the sDrive28i, available from $36,400, as well as the sDrive30i from the new X3, costing no more than $41,000. Prices don’t include the $995 destination and handling fee.

If you opt for the 2018 BMW X2 sDrive28i, then you should know that the model is already available in pre-orders, while the X3 sDrive30i will arrive in a couple of months. So you still have time to put some money away for the latter model.

With $2,000 less than the top of the line X2 xDrive28i, the entry-level sDrive28i also comes with some important characteristics.

Visually, the 2018 BMW X2 xDrive28i features LED lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels or power tailgate. Inside, the model gets the same plethora of high-tech gadgetries and standard equipment – 10-way power front sport seats with SensaTec upholstery, automatic climate control system, or seven-speaker audio system. The cabin is also tweaked with high-gloss black trim with pearl gloss chrome accents, while the steering wheel is wrapped in high-end leather.

In the engine department, the model is equipped with a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo flat-four engine with 228 horsepower and 349 Nm of torque, sent to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. This means an acceleration from standstill to 100 km/h in a good 6.6 seconds, at a top speed of 231 km/h.

Being the older sibling, it means that the X3 sDrive30i will get the same visual treatment and the same equipment inside the cabin. The only difference is the engine configuration. In this case, the 2.0-liter flat-four cylinder outputs 248 horsepower and 349 Nm of torque. The acceleration is 0.1 second better than the X2 sDrive28i.

For more details about the 2018 BMW X2 sDrive28i you can also check out the online configurator found on the carmaker`s official website. The X3`s official details will be posted in a couple of months.

With the recent adaption of SUVs such as the Range Rover Evoque, it seemed sensible for BMW to try the same move, offering Coupe and Cabriolet models of one of its smaller SUVs in production, an SUV like the BMW X2. The people over at BMW neither confirm nor do they completely deny the possibility of such a move.

With the recent diversification of SUV models going on, it seemed sensible for BMW to follow the same trend. Offering a Coupe or Cabriolet variant of the BMW X2, for those looking to buy something more extravagant than your average BMW SUV may still be something BMW has planned. As they put it, the information can’t be confirmed. This being said, the information is not denied either, which basically means we’ll have to wait and see what BMW’s next move will be regarding this specific subject.

While there have been quite a few renditions of what the BMW X2 would look as a Convertible and Coupe, none of them proved to be the real deal. They have convinced most, however, of the success such version could enjoy, provided that the Bavarian automaker would indeed make such a move. While clearly stating that they cannot confirm such rumors or speculations, BMW has also made sure not to completely deny the possibility of such variants of the BMW X2. It is exactly this fact that reassures most that BMW has indeed planned something in this respect. What is it and how will it look, is something we will have to wait and see.

Without a doubt, the BMW X2 is one of the most interesting models released by BMW. It is an affordable and elegant vehicle, a compromise between BMW’s top models and its more basic vehicle options. The vehicle strikes most as one of the most balanced vehicles in BMW’s history. It offers the best experience to those that seek a vehicle that does not exaggerate with the flashy gadgets we now see on almost all vehicles, regardless of manufacturer.

The BMW X2, as stated by BMW, will remain for the moment just as is. While the possibility of a Coupe or Cabriolet version is not out of the question, at this point it seems it is a distant dream. Regardless of how and when BMW will release such models, if it will at all, the BMW X2 remains one of the most appreciated vehicles the Bavarian automaker has to offer right now.

BMW is a real master in identifying the customers` needs on the automotive market, and with the latest trends today, it has managed to provide the best products and services. And this is why the German carmaker remains the leader in the auto industry.

The 2018 North American International Auto Show currently being held in Detroit, US, was the perfect opportunity for BMW to present its newest models. One of them was announced last year and has now been presented to the world, particularly since it is aimed towards the very popular subcompact crossover segment in the United States – it is the all-new 2018 BMW X2.

Just like most of the new models from BMW, the X2 also grew in size, becoming more aggressive and appealing and offering generous space inside and a wide range of engines under the hood. It is based on the also popular X1, being 3.2 inches longer and 2.8 inches lower.

As you probably know already, it also stands on the company`s new UKL architecture, meaning more lightweight materials for increased performance and low consumption. As for the looks, it shares its design lines with the much larger X4 and X6.

Among its top characteristics at the exterior, we should mention the upside-down Kidney Grilles and the BMW roundel on the C-pillar.

As for interior design, it also borrows top features from the 5-Series or 7-Series. However, it does come with tweaks of its own, like the freestanding 6.5-inch infotainment system or SensaTec upholstery. Other elements also include an 8.8-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation, Dakota leather or heads-up display.

Once arriving on the US market later on this year, the all-new 2018 BMW X2 will be offered as an all-wheel drive layout, available in the xDrive28i. The version will come with a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four mill, with 228 horsepower and 349 Nm of torque, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The same engine will also be available on the European counterpart.

In the United States, the 2018 BMW X2 will cost at least $38,400; however, with the array of optional available, prices could exceed $40,000. Stay tuned for more details and images!

When you think of Microsoft’s revolutionary HoloLens you imagine it as part of a cool game experience involving anything but cars. As it happens, BMW has teamed with Microsoft in order to bring an interesting virtual experience of the BMW X2 as part of an interesting advertising strategy.

The main goal of this particular partnership is to make the BMW X2 more visible to the public. In this way any individual can familiarize himself with this particular model. You can check out the car as a whole or analyze bits and pieces that went into the car design. No matter how you look at it, this partnership seems to have created quite a revolutionary new way of exploring a car before purchasing.

Why Microsoft and their product? The answer lies probably in the technology used. Seeing as it provides most mobility and allows interaction between virtual and real objects, the HoloLens seems like the best choice. The partnership with Microsoft is also BMW’s attempt at showing its interest in the high-tech area. By doing this, BMW attempts to attract a younger, more dynamic segment of customers, convincing the individuals within this public to purchase a BMW vehicle model.

Regardless of how you look at it, this partnership seems to be a total success. It should be noted that through this particular project, Microsoft, also has the opportunity to reach the BMW fan segment. It is a collaboration out of which both parts seem to have some sort of gain. This is one of the reasons this particular partnership seems well balanced. Will BMW include other models in this particular project? This is something that remains to be seen.

No matter how you look at it, the partnership between BMW and Microsoft is successful. The results speak for themselves. While this project has not yet reached its highest developing point, it still sends the message of a promising, interactive experience that BMW should be willing to implement for each and every model it produces, not just the BMW X2. For Microsoft, this particular project proves the capabilities of the HoloLens in regards to the automotive industry. It wouldn’t actually be surprising for Microsoft to partner with other important automakers in order to further develop this type of project. For now, this particular project is specifically tied to BMW and its X2 model. No matter how this will evolve, the success o the idea is already ensured.

We have been waiting for the arrival of the 2018 BMW X2 for a long time and now that the compact crossover has finally emerged, we get to admire it in a wonderful media gallery released below by the German carmaker.

As you probably know already, BMW couldn`t wait for the 2017 Paris Motor Show, which opens its gates on November 25th, and released the 2018 X2 earlier. It has made quite a buzz so far as it was declared one of the best models in its segment.

The 2018 BMW X2 is way too bigger than the previous variant, and can also be offered with the M Sport and the M Sport X packages. The latter one adds a more aggressive attitude thanks to the variety of M goodies.

As we can depict from the new media gallery below, the 2018 BMW X2`s design language is based on the X2 Concept, coming with a low-profile cabin glasshouse area, impressive new kidney grille at the front, fog lights on the side clusters, bolstered wheel arches, wide low overall silhouette and small rear windscreen. All these new lines enhance the car`s aesthetics and increase aerodynamics.

The 2018 BMW X2 crossover is also offered with a new colour pallete in and out – Misano Blue Metallic and Galvanic Gold Metallic at the exterior, and Dakota Leather in Magna Red and Micro Hexagon fabric, Anthracite/Alcantara in Black with M piping inside the cabin.

On the other hand, the M Sport package adds more features like 20-inch alloy wheels and new M goodies all around the body style. The M Sport X is even further enhanced with new body colours, M Sport Dynamic Damper Control and much more.

Besides the aforementioned Dakota Leather in Magna Red and Micro Hexagon fabric Anthracite/Alcantara combo in Black with M piping, the car`s cabin is fully tweaked with the latest technological gadgetries, also found on other new models. We should mention BMW ConnectedDrive Services, Head-Up Display, Apple CarPlay, wide touchscreen iDrive6 interface, Driving Assistance Plus with Parking Assistant and so on.

As for performance, the all-new 2018 X2 is equipped with three engines – the xDrive20i petrol (192 HP) with seven-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission, xDrive20diesel (190 HP), and the xDrive25d diesel (231 HP). The latter two come with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission.
