The Bavarian carmaker has published the first information and images with the new generation 2 Series Coupe. The Munich sports model has grown in size and is available with petrol and diesel engines with powers of up to 374 hp.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed opens its doors on July 8. Visitors will be able to admire here cars that have made history, but also models recently launched on the market. One of them is the new generation BMW 2 Series Coupe.

2021 BMW 2 Series Coupe

The Munich manufacturer has chosen this event to officially launch the new 2 Series Coupe, and the first images and information about it have just been published. The compact sports model will be assembled at the BMW plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

LARGER DIMENSIONS

In terms of size, the new 2 Series Coupe has grown compared to the old iteration. The length measures 4,537 millimeters (+105), the width is 1,838 millimeters (+64), and 2,741 mm (+51) are passed near the wheelbase. All the while, the height is 1,390 millimeters (-28). For extra maneuverability, the front and rear gauges are also 54 and 31 millimeters larger, respectively.

Conceived as a spiritual successor to the famous BMW 02, the new 2 Series Coupe offers a design characterized by sculpted surfaces and dynamic lines. Flared wings, full LED headlights, a BMW grille with “kidneys” positioned horizontally, an elongated hood, a plunging ceiling and taillights pushed to the extremities are just some of the defining aesthetic elements.

2021 BMW 2 Series Coupe

The top version of the M240i xDrive Coupe comes with spoilers and other elements specific to the M Sport models. Customers can, of course, also opt for the M Performance components, which accentuate the sportiness of this model.

17-inch wheels are standard, and 18-inch wheels are reserved for M Sport models.

The M240i Coupe is equipped with 19-inch wheels, and the M Performance catalog also includes some with a diameter of 20 inches.

2021 BMW 2 Series Coupe

Passengers will find inside sports seats, leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, fabric / Sensatec upholstery, Dark Graphite ornaments, three-zone air conditioning, BMW Live Cockpit system with 8.8-inch central display and 5.1-inch screen integrated into the instrument panel.

The 10.25 inch screen of the seventh generation multimedia system is optional, as is the digital instrument panel with 12.3 inch display. Both are part of the BMW Live Cockpit Professional system. Ambient light, Harman Kardon audio system, electrically adjustable sports seats, seat and steering wheel heating function or M Sport seats with integrated headrests can be found on the same list

The trunk has a load volume of 390 liters. For extra space, the rear seat is foldable in a 40:20:40 ratio.

COMPONENTS TAKEN FROM SERIES 4

The new BMW 2 Series Coupe is intended to be a dynamic car, which is why Bavarian engineers have borrowed several components from the 4 Series and adapted them for the compact sports model. The suspension has been improved and the chassis is 12% stiffer than before.

The M Sport suspension is standard on the M240i xDrive Coupe and optional for other versions. The M adaptive suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers is also optional.

2021 BMW 2 Series Coupe

The entry into the range is made with the new BMW 220i Coupe. Equipped with a 2.0-liter petrol engine, it has 184 hp and 300 Nm, enough to reach 100 km / h in 7.5 seconds.

A 245-horsepower version of the same engine will equip, from the summer of 2022, the future 230i Coupe.

Fans of diesel units will have at their disposal the new 220d Coupe. The four-cylinder unit integrates a micro-hybrid system at 48V and develops 190 hp and 400 Nm. In his case, the 0-100 km / h half lasts 6.9 seconds.

THE TOP VERSION WILL HAVE 374 HORSES OF POWER

The top of the range is the M240i xDrive Coupe version with its 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. The engine develops 374 hp (+34) and 500 Nm, so the car sprints up to 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds.

The first two versions come equipped as standard with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission, but customers can also check the Steptronic Sport gearbox with the same number of gears. This is standard on the M240i.

2021 BMW 2 Series Coupe

The list of safety systems offered as standard includes frontal collision warning, lane departure warning, Cruise Control with braking function and speed limit information.

Driving Assistant technology with Lane Change Warning, Rear Collision Prevention, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, Park Distance Control, Reversing Assistant, Reversing Assist Camera, Surround View and Remote 3D View are optional.

The debut of the new generation BMW 2 Series Coupe is scheduled for early next year.

The next generation of BMW vehicles is due and the German manufacturer is hard at work testing the prototypes. This allows us to catch the camouflaged vehicles in their raw form. The 2023 BMW M2 has recently been caught during its test run.

2023-bmw-m2

The M2 is expected to get a complete redesign after many years. All the new BMW design cues are present, including the quad exhausts, flared wheel arches, and the sporty side mirrors. The new kidney-grille design will also make its way onto the M2. The idea is to make the smaller models stand out. BMW has already wooed the market with the M3 and M4 designs so the M2 will not fall short of expectations.

2023-bmw-m2

The BMW M2 will be based on the CLAR platform which it shares with the Z4.

The 2023 BMW M2 is expected to get an underpowered version of the 3-0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-6 engine. The powertrain will probably produce around 420 hp, which is an increase of 55 hp.

The 2-series will come out as a 2022 model, which means the M2 version will come out a year later as the 2023 model. The pricing bracket will get a boost thanks to the inclusion of the new engine but there should not be a huge difference.

The 2-Series Gran Tourer and Active Tourer are perhaps the last models from the German fleet not to receive any significant updates since their release on the market in 2014.

However, the Bavarian carmaker decided to release fresh updates for the 2018 editions earlier this year, with the models being officially presented during the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, this March. The updates refer to some visual enhancements and new technologies onboard.

Visually, the two models follow the company`s new design language, looking restyled with a wider body style with enhanced characteristics.

As we can depict from the impressive media gallery, the new 2018 2-Series Gran & Active Tourer wear larger front intakes, along with new headlights and taillights, as well as fresh LED fog lamps. The more aggressive look is also highlighted by the two exterior colours available, plus a choice of 16-, 17-, 18- or 19-inch alloy wheels.

The minimalistic changes move to the interior. According to the German carmaker, the new models are set to be more driver-oriented, meaning a suit of technological gizmos, all configured in an updated cockpit with dual-screen layout.

The customers are also welcomed with new types of clothing, Alcantara and Daakota leather, as well as seat cushions which provide better feel, looks and comfort while being on the road.

In the engine department, the two models come with 221 horsepower and 385 Nm of torque (224 PS/165 kW and 284 lb-ft of torque), squeezed from a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine with an electric motor. The drivetrain is paired to a 7.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

Also, speaking of engine configuration, we are also dealing here with four-cylinder diesels with two turbochargers and petrol burners with particulate filter. These features visibly improve the MPV`s CO2 emissions and fuel consumptions.

You can admire both models in the exquisite media gallery below. Also, don’t forget to tell us what you think! Would you pay at least £34,485 for one model?

With the start of 2018, BMW has been planning all sorts of modifications for all the vehicles it produces. Concentrating mainly on the impact of these vehicles on the environment, BMW has decided to introduce a series of parts in the construction of its vehicles that will help further reduce their cars’ emissions.

One of the things the people over at BMW decided to do is fit the diesel 1, 2, 3, 4-Series with their SCR system which stands for Selective Catalytic Reduction system. Together with the AdBlue injection technology, these vehicles will become even friendlier with the environment. The X1 or at least some version of this particular model will also be fitted with SCR and a new exhaust system that will further contribute to lowering the car’s emissions. No matter how you look at it, future BMW diesel vehicles are ready to be friendlier with the environment.

BMW has also made modifications to its gasoline vehicle models. These models will be equipped with a special particulate filter that was originally fitted on the 220i Coupe. The results registered after the addition of this part on the 220i Coupe prompted the people over at BMW to add the filter to all compatible models. This is good news for all gasoline BMW drivers. BMW has made sure to take in account all of its customers.

Apart from these changes a series of design and functionality modifications are to be put in practice. Most BMW models will receive LED fog lights, PDC or Park Distance Control. All BMW models will now come equipped with the ConnectedDrive services. This will allow the driver to access his car using a smartphone.

BMW Emission Changes and Other Modifications Ready for European Models

With all these upgrades, BMW will most likely manage to attract even more customers. All these modifications will definitely add to the car’s premium feel.

It seems BMW has taken serious action n the fight against pollution. Apart from improvements to the car’s emission system, BMW has also decided to add finishing touches to their cars in order to add to the already existing premium feel. The people over at BMW have started the year on the right foot. With all these changes announced, BMW will most definitely satisfy even the most demanding of customers. With a new policy under the hood, BMW has started the year in style. All that remains to be seen is what other improvements will be brought to the table in the following years by the Bavarian automaker.

Following previous spy photos last year, the all-new BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe expected to arrive in 2020, has been seen in new extreme snow tests in Northern Sweden, wearing the same full camouflage, which is a clear indication that the test mule is still in early testing phase.

Unfortunately, besides a few details concerning engine lineup and design cues, there is little known about the future 2-Series.

According to last year`s reports, the future 2-Series Gran Coupe will stand below the 3-Series Sedan, directly tackling the likes of the Mercedes-Benz CLA or Audi A3 Sedan.

It is based on the new 2-Series sedan with visual influences from the 1-Series. It does look bigger as it follows the company`s new design philosophy. Thus it is stands on the new CLAR platform meaning more lightweight materials to improve performance and fuel consumption.

Speaking of sizes, the new 2020 BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe might be around 4.5 meters long, which makes it almost as the same size as the present 2-Series Gran Tourer.

Visually, it would come with sharper edges, side profile characterized by strong beltines, adding as well some shapes from the new 1-Series Sedan launched in China at the beginning of the year.

As for extra grip and increased performance, the new 2020 2-Series Gran Coupe would also come with a front wheel-drive layout with an optional xDrive system.

Inside, the cabin is also reported to share common technology with its older siblings – we should mention the most important like BMW`s latest Connected Service, Parking Assistant system and other connectivity features.

Under the hood, the new 2-Series Gran Coupe is likely to come with a wide range of petrol burners and diesels, with three- or four-cylinder configurations. Just like the rest of the lineup, the upcoming 2-Series Gran Coupe would also come with a hybrid variant. Stay tuned!

This summer is going to be extremely hot for BMW which has prepared an entire new fleet for launch, including the long-expected 1-Series, 3-Series and the recently previewed 2018 2-Series, coming both in the Coupe and Cabriolet.

The new philosophy that BMW has designed its models around is building bigger and more aerodynamics products, coming with the latest technology onboard and plenty of performance under the hood.

Scheduled to arrive in June, the all-new 2018 BMW 2-Series Coupe and Convertible follow the same line, both coming with updated design, the latest high-tech gadgetries and improved mechanics.

As we can see in the video presentation below, the all-new 2-Series is now coming with updated front-end with bi-LED headlights, wider kidney grille and more rounded air intakes, all increasing the aggressive look. Also, the rear end is highlighted by the single-piece rear lights with hallmark L-shape flowing into the flanks.

Also, the exterior colour palette includes Seaside Blue, Sunset Orange or Mediterranean Blue. You can find further details in the media gallery below.

The details inside are also more impressive, the cabin of the Coupe and Cabrio now coming with a more elegant yet sporty approach, highlighted by contrast stitching, high-gloss black surface for the center stack, leather seat upholstery, interior strips in aluminum or fine wood, high-gloss black panels with chrome accents and much more. The instrument panel is also tweaked with the latest onboard technology and “significantly enhances the cockpit’s quality feel.”

Under the hood, the 2018 BMW 2-Series is fitted with a wide range of three-, four- and six-cylinder engines, ranging from the 220i with 181 horsepower to the top of the line M2 Coupe with the same 375 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. Please find below the full powertrain details with the entire range, released by carscoops magazine.

First previewed about a week ago, the gorgeous BMW i8 and M240i by AC Schnitzer have finally arrived at the tuner`s stand in Geneva, with the curious eyes already staring at the cars` exquisite aero packages.

Not only carmakers worldwide get their chances of presenting their latest models, tuners too have the opportunity of revealing their custom-built rides. And AC Schnitzer with their exquisite models will be a real hit.

The German tuner decided to celebrate their 10th anniversary on the market by launching the aforementioned BMW products, both of them coming with impressive carbon fiber body elements and upgraded power under the hood.

The tuner`s outstanding carbon pieces that can be observed on the M240i also dubbed the ACL2S, refer to carbon fiber front spoiler and splitter, carbon fiber side mirrors, side skirts, rear roof spoiler or carbon wing. Under the hood, the M240i ACL2S also packs a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine which now develops 440 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque.

The power upgrade was achieved thanks to an ECU remapping, new exhaust system, downpipe and intake, the tuner also adding fully adjustable RS suspension kit.

On the other hand, the i8 gets noticed from the start with the same carbon fiber aero package, adding other cool features as well – carbon fiber middle front spoiler, carbon fiber bonnet top with middle strut, carbon fiber front side wings, new side skirts and carbon fiber rear wing. The entire kit is complemented with the new lowering kit, which lowers the car`s ride height by 25 mm at the front and 20 mm at the rear, increasing its stance and driving capabilities. The plug-in hybrid`s powertrain has remained stock.
